When it comes to the Beatitudes of Jesus Christ, you can pretend you are sitting on the green grass listening to Him speak wonderful words of wisdom. Amazing truths that can only come from the Son of God was given to a multitude of people yearning for everything Jesus processed inside. It was an amazing time to live in Israel…A time we can see the words of the prophets fulfilled.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6
Everyone has a hunger (passion) for something in this world. Sometimes those pursuits can change through disappointment, rejection and weariness. We try the world and hunger for the things they claim is the meaning of life, and many have achieved them all. Those who obtained the dream of success, find themselves surrounded by people who always want something (money, material things, etc.).
Statistics show many individuals who are famous, experience loneliness. They believed popularity would give them fulfillment, only to find life is more demanding. You have to be careful about everything you say and wear. The outer appearance is more valued than the heart…Ask the Fashion Police.
Therefore, the only person who deserves, and can handle worship, is God! When you hunger for righteousness there is fullness, an absolute completeness of life. The Holy Spirit helps you to want more of Him and life has meaning.
Without the Holy Spirit, people are in pursuit of each other. These wrongful attachments for man, leaves one disappointment. There’s a part of you that can only be touched by God. If a person, place or thing could do this, none of us would pursue His righteousness. There’s a need for love and acceptance God can fill.
I’ve tried friends and family for support, and was left feeling letdown. I’ve pursued wrong relationships that led to a life of more pain and betrayal. For someone like me, it’s wonderful to know I have a savior who can carry this load of pain.
The Beatitudes of Jesus Christ, also talks about salt and light:
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned: It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV
Since saved individuals in the earth are the preservers, they have to continue in the faith. Trials and tribulations can cause one to be weary ꟷ this is how one can lose flavor. By faith, we believe God’s word. Some feel lost in a world of pain and after long seasons of loneliness and rejection, they turn away. The truth here is to keep your saltiness then you will be preserved in the things of godliness.
