Jesus Sends the Twelve

March 9, 2017

The day Jesus sent His twelve disciples, He told them many things concerning the ministry He gave them to present to the people. Rarely do we see the things Jesus commanded His servants to do, in the church today. His ministry set people free…It wasn’t preaching alone, it was as followed:

“And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.  Matthew 10:1-4

Therefore, if people in Israel needed to be healed and set free from unclean spirits, why do many feel exempt from this ministry. In the body of Christ, we hear a lot of topics about overcoming and anger issues but what happens if a person is sick and under the influence of an unclean spirit. Many circles find it easier to kick people out of their churches, rather than casting the unclean spirit out of them.

I believe more than half of the ministries we see today, wouldn’t be used by Jesus in His time. There’s a lot self-help messages and they exclude the Holy Spirit. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit for a reason and we must honor and acknowledge His presence in our days of worship and everyday living.

People say they are Spirit Filled but they are filled with the wrong spirit. There’s a big difference between the Holy Spirit and another entity that competes against the move of God. We need to be carefulꟷ careful with deception.

Also, Jesus told the disciples to declare, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 10:7). Afterward, again, He says to, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give” (verse 8). This shows us that heaven comes with His healing power. There’s no sickness, death or demonic influences in heaven.

Today, many denominations will have problems with the Jesus we read in the bible. They box Him in this illusion that protocol is more important than seeing those held captive, set free. The Jesus I see and read about is so far away from organizations that accept those full of antichrist, to teach, preach and seek leadership positions.

We know that among the twelve was a betrayer. The betrayer named Judas was also able to present the message of the kingdom but he loved money more than God. Judas had a weakness that wouldn’t carry him into a perfect eternity with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And so we see it with this generation of ministers who love to be seen and love power more than the one who gives it.

“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10:32, 33
