As we continue this journey discovering the life of Jesus, we see in Matthew Chapter 8, Jesus is willing to heal those who ask Him. This allows us to know a truth concerning everyone who calls on His name today ꟷ do you believe he is willing to bless you. According to scripture, Jesus is moved by faith and those who had much of it, saw many miracles.
“When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
At the time, there were a lot of people following Jesus and many were set free and healed at that very moment. Most of the massive crowds of people were Israelis and these were those whom the Father sent to Jesus. One day something amazing happened…A Gentile had faith the Messiah could heal His servant:
Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” Matthew 8:5-7
The continent of Africa sees a lot of miracles because the Holy Spirit is moved by their faith. Some nations have more faith than others, but Africans believe there is a God that can do anything. Over the years, in many Western churches, my faith has been heavily fought against because of the faithless environment. Some just don’t have faith to believe God for any and everything.
Many are plagued with an, I can do it myself mentality, when there is always a place in their lives where only God can change things. These individuals trust doctors more than God, but even the most skillful surgeon needs God’s help to heal a patient.
